The strands in this short course are:
Strand 1: Clothes we wear. In this strand students learn about dressing appropriately for different contexts. It involves identifying and recognising items of clothing, and how these relate to their own bodies. Students also focus on their own dressing needs and choose a new skill to develop.
Strand 2: Fabric and fashion, fun and frolics. This strand broadens the students’ knowledge of fabric and clothing outside their everyday experience. It provides opportunities for students to explore costume, fashion and jewellery through the arts and the senses. Mathematical skills related to colour and pattern are emphasised.

The learning outcomes set out in the following tables apply to all students and represent outcomes for students at the end of their period of study (approximately 100 hours).
The outcomes are numbered within each strand. The numbering is intended to support teacher planning in the first instance and does not imply any hierarchy of importance across the outcomes themselves.
